Hi all,
here is a couple of photos of my new Stock from DIP (Boyd's thumbhole), Alpen scope, MKII FSS, Federal Automatch 22lr.
the target was a cd disk traced to paper and shot from a bench using a bean bag at 60 yards.
with more practice I hope to get better.

Nice looking rifle. Like that chest too. Get you a bi-pod for the front sling swivel and use the sand bag in the rear. It will settle in for you..
Very nice looking stock.... exact one I've been eyeing up for my FV-SR. Just as JUS1MO stated... quality bipod or front rest, decent rear bag, and don't forget to try lots of different types/brands of ammo. You'll find something that it likes....
Also try different brands and weights of ammo. Mine LOVES the TNT green.
I changed the stock on my (rather old) mark II fss, and the precission went out the window, I bedded the stock and tried different ammo types, no big improvements. Then I found a little cut under the barell, and I found a corresponding heel in the original plastic stock. I did build suck a heel in the new stock, now I can hit 10 golf balls on 60 yds using one mag.
btw anyone knowing when the first savage mark II was released on the market? I do not know the age of mine.
my old mark II rifle only has one action screw in it. I got it in 2001. it has a groove in the action. when I glass bedded it I allowed the bedding to fill that spot. mine shot good before, but shoots great now.
Ammo was the key for mine. Poor results with Federal. Better with CCI, Awsome with CCI competition loads...at 50yds I can castrate a gnat!
