Does it have an oval circle with letter & number inside, on the Barrel? Like in the thread below?

I recently re-acquired a Savage model 110 in .243. The serial # is 13447. My dad first bought this when I was 2, with the thought of making it a rifle to pass down to me. I used it hunting in my teens and 20's. Then got away from hunting for a while. Was trying to get a manufacturer's letter for it, but Savage got rid of old records and somehow the place in Cody never got the old records for the Model 110. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find out when this was actually manufactured? It might very well be the same age as me!
Thanks in advance

1958 my friend. Congratulations! You have a First Year Production 110. Well.. 2nd year technically.
Look at this thread. It has the year code production chart.

So, your rifle was among the first & called a Pre-‘66 due to certain features such as the Barrel & Bolt. And also has a fixed Ejector, positioned at mag Box. This thread shows the difference in pre & post 1966 Bolts.

There are no manufacturer's letters and Cody is no help with early 110s. Barrel stamp J confirms a 1958 production date. Nice story too!
