I'm thinking he's about $600-$700 to high in Canada, he's asking U.S. prices.
How nice is "very nice"?
Came across a very nice, original condition 1919 vintage 250 that is for sale. The fellow is asking $1500 CDN. Is this a fair price on the Canadian market. I have never had the opportunity to buy one here in western Canada, but thought he might be about $300 high. Whats your opinion fellow Canucks? Sorry don't have any pictures.
Second question not related to the 250,about when did the round counter window change from round to oval?

Savage- "never say never".
Well I know very nice is one of those "how long is a piece of string" statements, but there were no cracks or holes and the finish and blue were what I would call excellent. The problem with starting that high is a person is even reluctant to make an offer.
By "excellent" I'm seeing almost new in the box so $1500 is a fair price in Canada but I've never seen one that nice up here and I've been at her a few years.
Wish I could see a pic.

Well I don't think this one would qualify as excellent. Condition is such a difficult thing to rate, in this area most of the 1899's you come across are pretty rugged so this one seems very nice. If I do get it bought, which I think is unlikely,I will post a picture. Also have an opportunity to buy a pre-war R in 300. The pictures that were sent so far are poor, but condition seems to be average to good. What would be a fair offer in your opinion. R's are very uncommon out here in SK.
$600 would be a fair price up here for an R, pre-war, maybe $700 depending on condition.
Saw an EG in 250 in real nice shape tonight for $650.

6 is about what I was hoping to get the R for. Did the 250 sell already? Would you be willing to share the sellers contact info by pm if you are not buying?
It was on Canadiangunnutz yesterday, haven't looked to see if it sold yet or not.

For some reason I never have been smart enough to get beyond logging in on that site. Will try again tonight.
