Just for target shooting I hope.
Looking for a load for 165 and 150 gr jacket bullets for the 30-223 or 300 blk. Have Unique, imr 4198, imr 4227 and hodgdon h332 on hand. Not looking for sub loads. Will be shot from a bolt action rifle.
Just for target shooting I hope.
"An armed society is a polite society"
"...shall not be infringed" What's the confusion?
Yes
I had a bunch of 165 Rem Core-locks and tried IMR4227 at 15.0 gr but the velocity was only around 1650 fps. I got best velocity and better accuracy using Accurate 1680 at 17.3 grains with a velocity of 1825 fps. Neither load was fast enough to expand the bullet at even 50 yds. It would just smear the exposed lead tip making it look like a hollow point. Good plinking rounds though they functioned without issue. This was shot from a 16" 300 BLK barreled AR chronographed at 10 ft from the muzzle. These loads were all below the published load data in the Hornady 7th Edition handgun section for the 300 whisper.
A 6.5 grendel case expanded to 30 caliber will slightly exceed 30/30 velocities with 150 gr bullets.
Try 28 gr h4198

What would be a good deer bullet? Small whitetail no more then 150 lb. and maybe a load?
Still looking for loads for the 30x223 any weight bullet? How about using 300 blk data?
