See if you can find a date code on it.
It's a small oval with a number and a letter stamped inside of it.
My Dad just gave me a 58C .410 bolt action that he has had for several years. He refinished the stock and reblued the barrel and reciver. There is no serial number on the reciver or the barrel. So I think the gun is pretty old. I'm having a hard time finding information on this particular model. Any information or a point in the direction of info of this model is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jake

Savage- "never say never".
Thanks Mad Dog. I'll check when I get home.

Ok I just looked at the shotgun. There is a circle with the number 1 and the letter p. There is also the number 3 stamped beside it near the front of the reciever. I think the 3 is for three inch shells.
Jake
You found the date code, the P stands for 1963.
It sold for $34.95 back in 63.
Ya, your right it was chambered for 3" shells.

Outstanding information Mad Dog. Thanks.

Another question. Is there any way to determine the choke? I'm thinking this gun might be good medicine on the quail around my property.
Jake
It's pretty easy, in 1963 it was only available with a full choke.
