There is no spacer, the bolt travel is longer than the magazine on purpose. There are no "longer" magazines available. What you have is perfectly normal.
I just noticed on my stagger feed 111 that the magazine is not the full length of the bolt. It is chambered in 30-06 so I assumed it would have the 300 Win Mag OAL. You can see in the attached picture that there is an approximately .350 inch spacer in front of the bolt. Does this remove when I take off the magazine? Is there a longer magazine meant for the 30-06 diameter cartridges? And lastly when I buy a magnum length magazine will this block come with the old mag or is it part of the reciever?
Thanks
Josh

"As long as there's lead in the air....there's still hope.."
I don't think it is normal, there would be no way to get a 300 Win Mag round in this gun, I also have a centerfeed 270 that does not have that spacer in place, the magazine comes to the back of the bolt.
It's not a spacer, it's part of the staggerfeed action. Centerfeeds are milled out more and that is gone. I had a staggerfeed 300wm and ran into the same issue. You can only load out to 3.4"
Centerfeed magazine is roughly 3.52"
The action opening is around 3.8" if you can figure out a way to use it all
I had a gunsmith convert my 112 (chamberd in 22.250) that had the short magazine by milling out the bottom of the action, buying the larger magazine, a machining the bolt stop (if I remember correctly). Now I use it as true long-action for 6.5x284 (and others). See pic
Bought a matching 12 in 308 and then put my 22.250 in the short action.
