These are three groups I shot today with my new savage in .308 win. I was shooting Barnes VORTEX 150 grain tipped tsx bullets at 100 yards off a bench and bags.
I'll be getting some heavier Federal Gold match ammo soon to really test it out.
I'm happy with the rifle so far. I did swap out the scope for a Vortex 4-12x 40 Crossfire II with adjustable parallax.
First shots were the 3 shot group in the middle. Made adjustments to the scope and then shot bottom right 3 shot group. Then a 5 shot group top right. The hole to the left was at the end with some winchester. I shot 3 but I guess the other 2 went left off paper.
I'll get better with more practice.
Nice group steelhead. This gun is more accurate than I am. I just need more practice.
Not sure what your process is for grouping but if you don't use a rear bag try it. I don't shoot a rear bag when practicing because I never have one in the stand but I don't zero or group for working loads without one.

Yes I was using a rear bag. I would like to get a lead sled to confirm zero and confirm just how accurate this rifle can be. I simply need more practice. This is my first bolt gun. I have shot deer with my dad's 7 mag and 25-06 rugers but I've never really practiced for accuracy.
So far I have 43 rounds through this gun.
