In my opinion, that's a keeper.
Hey guys,
I've had this old rifle laying around for a long time and finally got tired of tripping over it, so I am going to either build it or sell it. I really need some help figuring out exactly what it is though
I don't know much about Savages but I am a pretty good researcher, so I have figured out it is an older 112 with a flat top receiver. It is a single shot, as there is no magazine port. Here is a shot of the barrel markings:
Is there any chance I can track down some info using the serial number? It has a "B" and then 6 numbers, as in "B9737XX".
In my opinion, that's a keeper.
THAT is definitely a keeper. Easy enough to build just about any caliber you want.
It's a 110S(ilhouette) stock. Typically they are intermediate short actions (4.5" action screw spacing). I wasn't aware they made them in long actions for the 25-06.

I guess they're isn't a way to look up the year of manufacture based on the serial number?
I shot it last week with some factory ammo and it wasn't too impressive, but I've never liked federal anyhow
