how are you planning to use the rifle?
I've just gotten a 110 .243 but want to get a 7mm08 barrel. Is it better just to get another 110 barrel or do the aftermarket makers have good ones?? Is the price difference worth it??

This will be used for hunting deer, hogs, coyotes, etc..
I'd get a good used 7mm-08 factory barrel, then. There was one in the classifieds here earlier today. Might be gone. Usually about $65 or so shipped.
Aftermarkets are nice. More for target though. If you only want 1 moa out to 250-300, go factory take-off as I already said. A good compromise between the two is Apache Gun Works, a site sponsor. He has a good reputation for less than premium prices on better than factory aftermarket barrels.
That said, the premium aftermarket barrels are awesome performers. You'd could have reasonable expectation of less than 1/2 MOA with good hand load development. If you're shooting factory ammo, don't bother.
Be aware that many 7-08 factory takeoff barrels have a 1-11 twist that may or may not stabilize 140 grain bullets. That represents probably 75% or more of the factory ammo out there. My 7-08 would do no better than 5-6" at 100 yds with the 140's, and I tried a great many of them.
I'd highly recommend an aftermarket barrel. Apache, Northland, and McGowen outlet would all be good choices.
thanks everyone for the info. I think I need to get my post count up to see any of the classifieds but I've got a good place to start with the Apache site..
sorry double post
Could be wrong, but it's my understanding that the only way to view the classified section is to become a Paid Member. Here's how:

I saved $50. on my first purchase, so it is generally well worth the small fee.
oh good call.... looks like I need to read the directions a little better
