For a 223, a 20 min base is a good idea. Load up some 75gr Hornady HPBT bullets to near max loads and you will be all set. Check your magazine length when you get it, also check your throat dimension, you should be able to load the long 75gr boat tail bullets a lot longer than Sami spec and it will still fit in the magazine. That also allows more powder without going too high in pressure. I had a really long OAL on the bullets then I found that I could not close the lid on the ammo case, so I reduced it to the max that my 50 round case allows.
If you are going for long range, don't waste your time with the lighter bullets, the wind deflection will drive you nuts. Unfortunately the twist rate is insufficient for the slippery Bergers, doing that would need a custom barrel. As it is though, mine will shoot the 75gr HPBT bullets 1/2 MOA and it is a very easy gun to shoot, especially for people new to shooting.
