IIRC (Mad Dog will correct me if I'm wrong) the Fox B's all used the same frame no matter the gauge as they used the same exact frame from the cheaper utility Savage/Stevens 311 SxS.

Is the 16 gauge Savage Fox B built on a frame specifically designed for a 16 gauge or is it built on a 12 gauge frame ?

Ya, I think your right Jim, only one I'm not sure about is if the 410 used the same frame or not.

Ya, the 410 has a smaller frame.
I remember that now after we tried to find a butt stock for my foremans 311 in 410 last year, totally different part number from the others.
