Easy.
Remove BAS
Slide cocking sleeve up
Remove Cocking pin
Remove firing pin assembly
Remove bolt retaining pin
Remove bolt head
Done.

Same here, detailed photos please as I am ready to take mine apart for a new bolt head.
Make that times 3! That would really help us out alot.

It's really not that hard. Once the BAS is removed, everything just slides apart.
I'm a licensed engineeer and I was able to do it without pictures, instructions, or a caveman helping me.
See? Anyone can do it.

Does the Cocking pin screw in??
I have been trying to remove this for 20 minutes and can't figure how to remove it.
Once the BAS is off. The cocking sleeve can slide toward the open end of the bolt body. When it stops sliding, the cocking pin can just pull out. Then the cocking sleeve can come all the way out with the firing pin assembly.

Still no good. I tried sliding it towards the open end of the bolt, with the cocking pin in line with the bolt head pin, and nothing. Tried prying with a screwdriver nothing going.
Also tried with the cocking pin turned into the keyway so it is 90 degrees from the bolt head pin, again nothing.
I'm not following what you are saying.
Push the cocking sleeve with your finger through the cocking ramp opening. It may help to move the cocking pin around while doing this just to get things moving.

Not a great picture. The sleeve that has the cocking pin locked in has a larger round hole on the right side that lets the pin pull out. The pin has a grove in it that retains the pin when the sleeve is slid to the left.The sleeve is inside the bolt body surrounding the firing pin. You have to shake things a bit or poke at it to get the sleeve to slide to the left.

The guys dissasembly was good. My sleeve was hanging up, did not slide at all. I put on my 6.8 bolt head
(without extractor) so I can install the new barrel when it gets here.
But the guys assembly was HORRIBLE. The money shots were just not helpful, everything to hime is down.
I have the bolt head extractor alligned with the front baffle the side with the extended ridge. This slides into the reciever on the right side.
But I have the Savage logo on the bolt at about 330 degrees when looking forwards and the cocking pinlong slot directly up and in alignment with the bolt head pin.
He says to have the cocking pin in the short slot, but in that position I can't get the BAS to start threading.
Of course when in the long slot the BAS threads on easily.
Finally got it, thanks.
I will have this apart a cople dozen times coming up. Have a SSS fluted bolt coming, than the barrel and finally putting the extractor into the 6.8 bolt head.
