I like a lot!
Me too! Might be the nicest looking factory gun I've seen.

sure looks like a 114 classic stainless to me, except for the fluted barrel.
Before Savage started doing this factory, I took my 116 with floorplate and muzzle brake and put it in a classic stock. Dressed it up nicely and it feels like a real rifle now that it is out of the tupperware stock.
I liked the looks of this rifle so much that while searching for more info online I stumbled into one for a price I thought had to be a misprint. Emailed the dealer then a few phone calls later it is on its way to my ffl right now!!!! Ill post up pics when I get it.
The fluting looks similar to the 116 Bear Hunter model.
I do like that stock, though.
I picked it up yesterday. It looks even better in person than it did in the pictures. The fit and finish is very good. Also what I am really impressed with is the balance of the rifle. One negative, if you could call it that, I do not like the looks of the smooth barrel nut vs the old style.
Looking forward to a summer of load development! Here are a few pics. Ill take a better one outside after the scope is on. All the naysayers that say Savages are ugly need to see these lol

Looks.great! What caliber did you choose?
I wanted to get away from the expensive hard to find calibers this time. For days I want to shoot and do not feel like reloading I wanted a caliber I could get basically anywhere. So i went with 30-06. Never even shot a gun in that caliber so I'm looking forward to it.

Nice "classic" look to that stock. I love 30-06, you would probably run out of money or space if you tried to start a collection of it in different makes and versions.
Talley's came in the mail Saturday. Sneaking to the range over lunch on Tuesday! Can't wait!!
Well I concluded my first season hunting with this gun and did not get to pull the trigger... But the short barrel and light weight it was an absolute joy to carry in the deep snow and thick woods. Having hunted before with heavy long barreled rifles it was a nice change. Looking forward to many more hunts with it... now I just need the deer to cooperate!
One really handsome rifle. The price is really good compared to their competitors.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
