Does anyone make a one piece tactical style base for a flat rear reciever? Got a customer that likes his rifle and scope but can't get the scope far enough rearward. I thought this type of base would let him do that. All the bases I have found are for the newer round rear.

I like EGW. The new Weaver Tacticals look nice too.
You could also use a two piece with a reversible front. I like the Burris Xtreme bases.

If he has a big scope, I'd use the Farrel, much stronger.
I use Farrel on all my Savages and when I was a gunsmith, installed the Farrel mounts unless the customer didn't want one.
They are the best engineered, have the tightest tollerances, and strongest mount available. Not cheap, but if your building a good rifle, bases and scope rings are no place to skimp. You could throw a rifle out of an airplane and the only thing left undamaged would be a Farrel mount.

Sandhiller,
See post: http://savageshooters.com/SavageForu...topicseen.html for the Farrell
Brownells has the Farrells in stock.
Midway has EGW listed but BO $39.99
SWFA has EGW in stock
Weaver makes one also #413.
Thanks for the replies guys! I should have been more specific. It is a short action, .22-250, I need to get ahold of him to see what model it is. I understand the old adage "you get what you pay for" and mounts and rings is no place to scrimp but the Weaver looks to be more in his price range and the customer is always right. Right? ::)
