Has your brass been fired?
Could someone with some 30-06 lapua brass measure the diameter @ the web right before the extractor groove (case head)? I have been using winchester brass in my custom shilen chamber and I have had nothing but problems with primer pocket expansion. All the WW brass I have measured is .462-.464 in this area and my chamber is right at .470" factory spec. Just curious if Lapua brass is closer to .470". Thanks this is for my 25-06 AI.

I already know what the case dimensions should be. That link did not show what size Lapua brass measueres out to. So does anyone have any 30-06 Lapua brass?
Has your brass been fired in your chamber?
Maybe you have some new brass that is quite a bit smaller than what the size is supposed to be.
Provided the link so that you can give Winchester a copy of the drawing if need be. Trying to help........................................
I've got a bunch of new Lapua .30-06 brass that I used to use for my .25-06. Just measured several cases out of one box....they seem to run 0.464 to 0.465 inches...piece to piece.
Hope this helps,
Wayne
I was hoping Lapua brass would be closer to .467-.468 but thank you. I get about 1 shot out of my brass if I use WLR primers. The brass starts out @ .462-.464 and expands to .468-.470. I measured my chamber to be .470 it just sucks there is so much clearance. Guess I should have looked into the reamer Shilen was using a little closer. If I would have known I would have them make it @ .467 or so. I started with new Winchester brass in 25-06 and 270 but after fireforming only the CCI primers go in with any resistance. I have gone through about 100 pieces of brass.
Does anyone have a 25-06 AI reamer that has the case head web dimesion under .470"? I can ream it deeper and hope this will fix my issues.
