    [ UPDATE ]

Just ran a starting load thru the new chamber. Hodgdon calls for 55.0 of Varget at 2079 fps. with a 24" barrel. [starting load ]
I made a 23" barrel and got 2039 fps for my first test shot. [ Hornady 300 FP ]
So I am right on par with 405 Winchester load data.
Plastic stock and steel one pc. base weigh in at an even 7#s.

So what do belting dies look like.

I have wanted something like the .450 Marlin but fitting a std bolt face. Looks like these are close enough.

Just shot a case full of Benchmark and a 270 Barnes TSX..............2569 fps.........just shy of 4000 ft #s of energy!

The factory plastic stock is still doing fine, but keeping an eye on it.

Now to mount a scope and do some group testing.

Should have the brake installed next week.

They are just tapered dies that reduce diameter .010 each [.007-.008]. Takes 2 dies, then the third one has a sharp edge to help seat in the belt.
Third die is used in an arbor press.
Then I finish them in a lathe.
    All home made stuff.
CH4D use to make these, might contact them.

The lower shot was a scope adjustment, then fired the next three. 2545 FPS....300 TSX.
