Well, the SAUM's are based upon a short action length, so essentially 2.8" COAL.
The 7mm Rem magnum & 300 WM are both based off of the standard long action.
Both the Win Mag and REM mag case had the 458/338/264 win mag parent case. So the magazine dimensions should be the same. If Savage put the 300 in a magnum action then technically you may gain a dash more room. But I guess my question would be why, when dealing with a short cartridge?
