Yes...even though they shoot the same bullet they have different chambers which are part of the barrel. So to change caliber...for example from 300 win mag to 3006 you will need a new barrel. There is more as well. Your 300 win mag 110 long action can actually be changed into ANY long action caliber with the barrel swap. there is one small problem though, the bolt face. Your current bolt face will work with other magnum calibers, such as a 7mm rem mag, so you could simply do a barrel swap to that BUT if you wanted to go to a non magnum caliber such as a 3006, you would need to buy the barrel, plus a new bolt face for standard calibers and not magnum.Originally Posted by dukecrab
