This may not be news to many but I just read yesterday on a shooters forum .com that Savage has been acquired by ATK Sporting Group. I don't recall any timeline for this acquisition having been mentioned, so it might be "old news" but it was news to me. The poster was lamenting on recent Savage firearms QC and opining whether it was prevalent and reminiscent of Winchester (and Marlin for that matter) production failures or even disgruntled employee 'sabotage' fearing production relocation to SouthEast USA where some other manufacturers are going. I'm not in the market for any new Savage guns, so on the surface it doesn't concern me too much but I searched these forum threads to see if it had been discussed with no results.

Wow, year old "news", lol, I'm really on the ball.
I knew Savage had been sold but had never checked out the new owners. This company is HUGH. I guarantee you can look around your gunroom and see several products from ATK.
