Proud of my family!!! ;) ;D

These are some of the wildcats I am either currently shooting or have shot at one time or another. Have at least one barrel chambered for each of these with the exception of the 204 Apache.

From left to right:

204 Apache, 223 for reference, 223AI Long, 22x47 Lapua AI, 250 Savage for reference, 22-243 Middlestead, 22 Vias (I think) 22-6mmAI, 6mm SAUM, 6mm Vias, (I think) 6mm Screwup ;), 6.5x55 Swede for reference, 25-06AI, 257STW, 300 Whisper

My current favorites are the 22x47 Lapua AI, 22 Vias, 6mm SAUM, and last but certainly not least 25-06AI.

Will be posting some more pics for better clarity as time allows me to this evening.

whats a 6mm Screwup made from?

;D

6.5x55 Swede brass necked down to 6mm and blown out in a "screwed up" 6mm Vias chamber.

I screwed up and ran a 6mmBR reamer too deep while trying to do a 6mm Vias........ ::)

Just made a false shoulder on it and fireformed the brass anyway just to see how it would perform.

I need to cut the barrel back and rechamber one of these days. ;)

257 stw.....hot tamale ;D

..A guy at work is supposed to have 1 of those...He's kind of a clown so to speak, so I don't talk to him too much...He said something about a Texas Trophy Hunter to..I'ld say you could push that 85gr Nosler BT past 4200fps pretty easy...Be a coyotes nightmare...lol... ;)...6mm Vias looks pretty good too...

The 257STW needs a long barrel to get the speeds.....28" at least. Mines built on a rechambered 26" 25-06 barrel. IMO I should've just punched it out to 25-06AI and left it at that.

Fixing to build a 257WSM in the next few months. I like the reports of the one Ed (EFBell) built. Better than 257 Weatherby performance.

224TTH.......224/6mm same thing. Nice cartridge. Several of the wildcats I have will match or beat it speed wise...and smoke a barrel in the process. ;)

from everything i have read about the 257stw is that to 400 yards hold dead on and no drop to account for.....thats just amazing if its true.....but that info came from a gun rag years ago and could be bull?
but would still love to have one!

the 257wsm i would love to try too,i do have a LS action i could buy,to try it on.....but i have other things i care more about ;)

This is prolly the article that started it all:

http://www.2joutfitters.com/STWrifle.htm

It's what caused me to build one. ;)

It can do it if you use a 7" point blank circle.

Nice portrait. Probably should be on an Holiday card. :)

My current arsenal includes several 223 AI's, one 222 AI (super duece) - 1:8 twist barrel at 28" provides 3150 fps with 80 gr AMax, 22/6mm AI, and 6.5x55 AI.

It would make a nice seasonal card......Deer season, Elk season, Varmint season...... ;D

Super Deuce!!! I like that name!!!

Perhaps I can borrow a mod of it for my 223AI Long...........Super Deuce Mag? LOL! ;) Uses blown out 204 brass sense 222 Mag brass is hard to come by.

Cool Cool Cool.

How about the 25-06 AI to do what all the rest do, with a .204 ruger thrown in for the smaller work. I know, that is not as fun as having these cool wildcats. I love my .204 Ruger and my 25-06 AI. Thanks for the photo.

PS. You got some real barrel torches. The beauty of a savage setup of course is to get another one and put it on.
