Model # should be on top of the front of receiver. It may be under a scope base. Is it a take down, straight stock or pistol grip, barrel length. Need more details!
Good morning,
I recently purchased a nice savage 99 with a serial number 425306.
It has the sling swivels, checkering on the stock and the schnoble fore end.
can anyone help me out…from what I’ve researched it was made in 1944.
thanks in advance,
Mike

It’s not a letter like I’ve read about…it’s a “3”

here are some pics…looks like it wasn’t drilled and tapped from factory.
I’d like to figure out what the original rear sights looked like and restore it.
thanks for any help on the model and sight.

It was made in 1944 so no it was not factory d&t'd. Looks like an EG made from 1935-1960. Still haven't said what caliber it is or barrel length! Not in bad shape for it's age, nice wood, too!

Thank you for your help. I was thinking eg as well.
300 savage and 24” barrel I believe.
24" would be the correct barrel length. The EG was factory D&T'd starting in 1957.
