I've got both 62 and 70 gr tsx's but haven't gotten around to loading them up yet--I will eventually. Kinda curious about this myself.
Anyone get sub-MOA groups with Nosler 40gr Lead Free bullets? Or any others?
TIA
Andy

My load of 25 grs of varget with 62 gr tsx shoots .75 to .86" at 100 yds. It took some trial and error with the barnes for me , but its worth figuring out.
Yep , but these more than others. I think it was the fact that they are longer than lead jacketed bullets of the same wght.
Meaning more of the bullet stuffed down into the case?

Yes i used a hornady bullet comparator to figure out proper seating depth. I ended up about .040 " off the lands and grooves. This worked best for me , but you might find something else works bettr for your set up.
I'm kinda stuck staying near Barnes' max COAL since this cartridge will see it's way through my AR's as well; so I can't get any closer than a COAL of 2.255 or so. What did you end up with as a COAL? thanks.

I just finished loading a test batch of 70 gr tsx's in lapua match brass with RL15 in charges from 22.5 to 24. Had a pretty tough time loading to the book specs--I'm guessing there's more than 102% compression going on since the bullets tended to creep out of their seating in the upper range--I ended up crimping all of them. I was also using a new set of Lyman 223 dies--the seating die was pretty screwed up--it was so dirty it looked like the inside of an uncleaned chamber and has some visible scoring!

If all goes well--the bullet should travel at somewhere around 2900 fps with KE of around 1300 flbs. And that's using an all-copper design which tends to deliver more damage for the weight than a lead design.
