OK educate me here. if you make sure and slide the gauge under the extractor as an actual round would why is it necessary to remove it? Assuming of course you don't try the hercules method of closing the bolt.

It isn't. A little bit rhetorical but... Do you slide the lip of the gauge under the exractor when you are headspacing? Have you ever experienced this problem? How did you handle it?Originally Posted by ready_on_the_right
