I do. Use them in a couple of AR's. They shoot accurate as well. Feeding is extremely reliable in the AR platform.
I use H4895 in my reloads.
Speer 224 Caliber 70 Grain Semi-Spitzer
Link below.
From what I have read its a sledgehammer for a 224 bullet.

What is your max for H4895 ??
I was using 23.5 for a max load with the Barnes 70gr TSX but I saw on reloadersnest
one load of 25 gr which seems like a lot.
Danger!!! this is one (1) grain over the Speer load book max!!!!
work up to it.
Speer's Load Book # 14 Data= 21.0 min-23.0 max
24.0 Grains AA2230 powder
Lake City brass 08
Fed 205 std Primers
70 Grain semi spitzer sp (219 bc)
COl 2.260" mag length...
Great accuracy from a blunt nosed bullet!
all shots touch from my AR-15 or Savage model 16 @ 100 yards on a good day.
You have to work up your own loads. Internal case dimension, chamber dimension, etc, etc, etc.Originally Posted by tammons
I run 25.0 in my 26" barrel Savage and 24.5 in the AR's.
I always work up. Just wondering what your max is.
You know anybody that has tried RL17 with this bullet in 223 ??
I do not believe there is enough case capacity in the 223 case for RL17. RL15 would work well with this bullet though. RL15 is a rather accurate and speedy powder in 223 with heavier bullets. I run RL15 in "Super Duece" - 222 Magnum AI with 80 gr AMax's at 3100 fps. Easy 1000 yard caliber.
