I have a new model 11 centerfeed with a DBM and it works great. Never had any issues with the magazine.
Hello: There has been some discussion of magazine feeding problems with Winchester short magnums in several bolt action series of various manufacturers. I'm thinking about purchasing a Savage rifle that fires WSM cartridges. Will I regret it? Should I instead consider a long action Savage rifle in one of the more traditional calibers--7mm Rem Mag, 30-06, 300 Win Mag, etc? thx Jim

No savage here but a win m70. Year 05-06. No feed problems. Staggered in the stock. Not a removable mag. Wish I bought a savage long action with all I know now.
Couple rf's, couple cf's, and 1 12g.
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost
I have 270 wsm and 325 wsm. I have had the 270 wsm for about 4 years and have not had any feeding problem as of yet. One huge positive is that boy are they accurate...! I just got the 325 set up about a month ago and shot my first group after barrel breaking and had a 1/2 three shot group at 100 yards. Only thing and I am going to open up another thread is barrel life. I had a gunsmith tell me that they are shot after 2000 rounds. Not sure what noramly barrel life is anyway.. Good luck
I have a Model 11 FHNS in 7mm WSM - no feed problems. I will say that you can't be delicate when working the action - it's a fat cartridge case, and you need to be a little forceful when working the bolt. But then, that's true for any large cartridge, isn't it?
built a 7WSM from a new action only. large shank short action center feed with WSM bolt face. feeds great. great round also
