You must have the powdered metal baffles. They are pretty hard, and parkerizing doesn't penetrate it. The newer rear baffles are investment cast and park with no problem, however it may be slightly lighter than the receiver.
Yesterday I was parkerizing a project rifle. The rear and front baffle would not take the park. Does anyone know if these parts are stainless? The rifle itself is not stainless steel. It was a wally-world special.

Do you know if the bolt handles are powdered metal also? I tried parkerizing the large knob handle, and it darkened a bit, but nothing like the receiver.
The bolt handles are investment cast, and may come out lighter than the receiver because they are harder. You might try an acid dip before the parkerizing.
