I personally think that these are the best rifle of choice for a survival type weapon. I have a 24 J-DL in 20 ga./ .22 Win. Mag. In this combo, you could basically take almost anything that is huntable. Deer with a 20 Ga. slug. Most gamebirds and waterfowl with 20 ga. shot, and most varmints with the .22 win mag. As far as accuracy goes, the 22 Win. Mag on my gun is far more accurate than I can shoot it with open sights. At 50 yards I can keep the shots under 3/4 inch, but I'm sure with a scope it would shoot like a house of fire. Speaking of survival guns, I just picked up a Model 24 C Campers companion. These are ideal for that purpose. Very portable, ammo storage in the butstock and chambered for 22 short, long, long rile/20 gauge. All in allthese are great guns.
