straight 1.120" for 30" then 1.25" Sin Arms muzzle break. It is about 9lbs and it is a 338 Edge
You gonna mount that on a tracked vehicle?
Nope, on my Choate stock and Savage target action..WHOOO HOOOOO!!!!
Thanks a million Devin, looks killer!
Looks like one of Straightpipes barrels that he has chambered in 7WSM. Last week we shot at Manatee Gun & Archery Range at 1000 yards, Scott shot a 5 shot 3 inch group with 168 SMK's.
What does Manatee taste like? ;D
Thanks for the edit. I thought you were on to another meat source.
WOW!! that is a smokin group at that range, very impressive.Originally Posted by DGD6MM
Yeah it was. We were shooting groups on a 1000 yard IBS Target. I've got pictures, just don't know how to post them and I'm also lazy. Scott used to be on this site, his screen name I believe was something like the Lone Ranger. Those Beefy Barrels do have their place.
Yessir, agreed. The combination of beefy barrel, Sin Arms Brake, Choate stock
and, Gracoil recoil reducer, I think will make the Edge very shootable. I, as it
turns out, am kinda large, so I am able to tote the burly beast around, no prob.
Mike did you get it together yet?
Nope..absolutely on fire to get it done, just a rotten couple of days loadingOriginally Posted by sinman

were did you get all your parts from?what savage model do you have?
Sinman, did you have the action so you could time the muzzle break,so its correct when you set the headspace,or is your break timeable???? with a peel washer or something?

Sorry, I sell a timing kit for $10 if I don't time it to the action
Any chance of some close up shots of the timing kit and how it looks installed?
Ditto. I know you used to have some of this in your vendor section. I've got a guy getting started on a build and I'd like to point him to some examples.Originally Posted by memilanuk
So what kind of recoil reduction is seen with a Sinn Arms muzzle brake? I am interested in this .338 Edge but would like to know how well the brake works.
Here is the shim kit

does the brake have a lip that goes over the od of the barrel?
No, it just shoulders against the barrel/shim. It could be cut that way depending on the OD of the barrel.
So any comment on how effective the brake is?
