its screwed on.
look for a couple 1/4" slits in it and stick a greased #2 Philips screw driver in the slits. grease reduces the friction of the rubber.
You will then need a long thick straight blade screw driver. 10" x 3/8" at least maybe longer.
I have a 219B 30-30 that my boys are cleaning up and I'd like to remove the butt-stock from the receiver. The rifle has a Pachmayr recoil pad that is not screwed on - glued I guess. Before I remove it, I want to make sure that's what I need to do in order to remove the stock.
Thanks,
Eric

Thank you BA, that was right on. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.
We have it disassembled and the boy are making nice progress on the wood. The stocks are surprisingly nice wood - I'll post some pictures when they get done.
Best Regards,
Eric
