I just built a 7mm wsm on a long action but it should be the same concept... screwed on the barrel put on a magnum bolt head and I bent the mag feed lips open to feed the wsm case and was good to go
I have a Stevens 200 Centerfeed Short Action chambered in 7-08. What would I need to purchase to convert this to a .300WSM? Below is my guess, but correct me if I am wrong.
.300 WSM Std. shank aftermarket barrel
WSM Bolt head
WSM Magazine. Is there such a thing?
Anything else?
Thanks,
Dave

Silence is golden.... duct tape is silver!!
Being it's a short action you'll have to have a different firing pin. The bolt head on the SA is longer than the rest.
No such problem on a long action, just use 7mm, 300 mag heads.
Thanks. I think I will get a long action for this build anyway so I can seat the bullets further out.
That was my idea 8)
