Yes, you go with what works and press on. If they line up perfect the scope will bore sight w/o problems. If you do experience a problem with the 788 mounts, go with a one piece EGW. Once you try one, you'll never go back to a two piece setup.
Just got my 200 22-250. The weaver 46's didnt fit well, but the 75's for a rem. 788 fit perfect, anyone run into this before?

If there was not enough spacing for the current short tube scopes, the Weaver 402 is the answer.
Spacing wasnt a problem. The way it hugged the receiver was. The 46's didnt seem to contour exactly right so. Hopefully these will be ok. It bore sighted fine. Heading to the range shortly to finish sighting er in!!
