Does anyone out have a 280 ackley dummy round they'd be willing to send me? I am all set to build one, but hear that feeding from teh stagger feed sometimes presents problems. I want to make sure it will feed reliably in my rifle. Even a piece of brass would work, as I could just seat a bullet. Let me know. Thanks.

They feed perfectly from my staggerfeed lefty.
What barrel you going with?
Length?
Contour?
Twist?
If you don't mind me asking.
i don;t mean to hijack the thread but i am in the same position, however i don;t have my barrel yet, i have been reading and am now concerned on the feeding of the 280AI in my stagger feed, Jim at northland told me June for my Shilen tube
I am thinking about a #3 or #4 contour as this will be primarily a hunting rifle. 9" twist, probably 24 inches long. I haven't decided on manufacturer, but am thinking about trying Benchmark. I haven't made the time to call and talk to them. Does anyone know what a prefit is running from them? My 6.5x55 is a McGowen, and I have been happy so far, but want to see what else is out there.
Thanks Charlie, did you get my PM?
Yes, I got your PM and dummy round shipped yesterday via USPS.
My 280AI was built on a Browning LH Stainless Stalker by gunsmith Darrell Holland. He has built a bunch of these and he advised me to go with a #4 contour and a 26" barrel. I think it is a bit on the heavy side for a walking gun, more like a beanfield rifle. But man does it shoot! Barrel on mine is a Schneider and it has shot well under one moa from the gitgo.
