Why not go with 6.5-284 or 6.5-06 if all you care about is wringing the last bit of velocity out of a 6.5mm bullet?
That isn't what I was trying to get at. I was just trying to figure out why people are so fond of the 6.5x55 Swede. I would like a rifle that doesn't burn a ton of powder, has good barrel life, that is good for long range, is accurate, and the components are readily available. I figured the .260 because of the high ballistic coefficient and accuracy. I am open to any opinions or ideas because I haven't ordered a barrel yet.
