I tried the 40's and didn't have a whole lot of luck, I think the 40's are a bit light for anything other than p-dogging. Here in central washington we always have wind ripping through the plains and 40's fly on their own! I have tried 50's, 55's and 53 match. I have had the best luck with the 50's.
You might start with H380, H380 was developed with the 22-250. The most accurate load during development was 38 grains so they named the powder H380. I knocked it down to 37.4 grains of H380 and use 50g v-max or Nosler b-tip's which hold 3/8" groups in both my Howa and my weatherby SUB MOA (winchester brass/WLR primer).
I'll look in my data book and see what other load data I can come up with.
