NO, not really. It’s using a Proof Research Carbon Fiber barrel. About a $700 barrel. And uses the MDT HNT26 Chassis. A $1500 Chassis. So that’s $2200 right there. Honestly, I’m not one for the Ultralite Action. I would rather the strength of a standard Action. Or, even better, one of the Port style Actions. Thing is Savage has gone a bit Nutty in it’s advanced years. I’m sure there are a few out there who will buy one new for that money. Here is the Savage Ultralite Elite.
However, those who want a custom Savage 110 are a minority and typically wish to build their own. People like myself. Below is a picture of mine. It’s among the highest built Savages of any. However, I never would have purchased it like this. A huge part of the enjoyment is the Doing. Building it myself that is. And I’ve spent quite a bit of money on parts as well. However, I have it exactly the way I want it!
