nice!!!!
Several months back, a buddy asked me to get what I needed to put together a Contender for him in 30/30. I got it accomplished, took it to the range and sighted it in with some 150 grain factory Core Lokts he’d given me. I was quite surprised how well it likes those rounds, printing under an inch at a hundred yards. Scope and ammo tracked nicely right where I wanted them.
This morning he and I hunted at his place then went into town for a late breakfast. As we returned, there was a doe standing approximately 75 yards down in the woods and he said to shoot it. Well my Contender was in my truck, we were in his truck, so he told me to grab his Contender as it was closer. Long story short, I got a deer with his “new” gun before he did.
nice!!!!
Ya do what ya gotta do
Nice!
I have a buddy, every time he buys a new gun (mostly shotguns for bird hunting) he always seems to have an issue of some sort (often operator error with a new to him gun) and would hand it off to me to inspect. Almost every time as I am "checking" it a bird will start working and I will end up taking the first kill with his new gun. First time that happened he was slightly irritated or maybe more disappointed is the way to put it. After that gun ran flawlessly for the rest of the time he owned it. Next one he bought he got the first bird with it and he had tons of issues with it. Every gun after that I have to get the first kill for him and they all seem to be good to him after that so now its a tradition of superstition LMAO

Good you got one.
Congrats Chris, I picked up another .30-30 barrel the other day.
It's better to shoot for the moon and hit the fencepost than to shoot for the fencepost and hit the ground!

Thanks, guys. More steaks, jerky and summer sausage!
