You sure about that? I have never heard of a 12FV bolt head that didn't look like these:

I have a 308 Savage bolt action they call it a 12fv from Cabela. However the barrel is so heavy I would like to change it to light Barrel. So I looked at the Arthur Brown company offering I just want to go to 308 sports light barrel. But I realized that I have an old style Savage bolt and apparently the ER Shaw barrel does not accept an old fashioned Savage bolt. Is this accurate, or can i still use the same original bolt.

I just put a EAB .22-250 heavy barrel on a 12FV purchased from Cabelas last fall.
hi, thank you. My bolt looks like the bolts you showed. The web site from eabco, https://www.eabco.net/Shaw-Barrel-fi...C_p_15569.html, shows this picture. Saying their barrels will not fit my bolt??
LOOK AGAIN
The ebco picture the bolt on the left has an extension on the tip that fits into a recess cut into the barrel, While the right one is flat except for the slight recess for just the case head. You would have to go way back to the 40 / 45 Sporter years or early 60s 110 to find the barrel that they are talking about. No 10 series would ever be that old.

Interesting that your 12FV has the old style bolt. How old is it?
my bad, its actually the current design, Blue avenger corrected me. ty
The bolt on the left in the picture on EABCO's site has not been used in any Savage rifle manufactured after 1966.
ty BA, i plan to convert to lighter barrel, .308 also. then later try .243. I only hunt deer anyway.
