The bolt head change from .473 to .532 requires a longer firing pin assembly.
The bolt head is thicker requiring a longer pin.

I'm installing a .25 WSSM on my striker, and it currently has a .473 bolt head.
Do I need anything else besides a .530 magnum bolt face for the conversion.
Such as firing pin, spring etc.
Thanks

one on left is a .473, the center is a .532. the one on the right is a .532 with the length modified to fit a short action. then you can use the same firing pin and get the proper travel length.
current short action bolt heads made for short mags use a control feed bolt head with a different ejector system.

All new manufacture S/A magnum bolt heads will require a different front baffle and firing pin. For some strange reason (guessing the engineers at Savage were bored one day), they decided to change the magnum bolt heads even though there was no problems with the old design.
