From another new guy, Welcome!
I just was returned a model 99 in .300 caliber that was stolen from my dad 40 years ago. Unfortunately he passed away during the rifle's absence from our family collection. I will be posting pics in the vintage section to try to decipher the serial number and year the rifle was produced. Glad to be part of the Savage Shooters forum...
From another new guy, Welcome!
Welcome aboard
And yet, another new guy. Looking forward to hearing more about the 99.
Years ago, I had this young man working on our team when his father passed away. While the extended family and many friends were at the funeral, this young man's best (?) friend broke into the father's farmhouse and took every firearm in the house as he knew right where they all were. It went unsolved for several years until the thief got divorced. His ex had a story to tell. Most of the guns were never recovered as they were sold off. I always thought ... how low can a man get?

Wow.. that is awful. This was stolen when I was 2 years old. It is a small miracle it was returned and I am so grateful. My dad always talked about the 300 savage and how it was stolen from his brother while he was using it. The truth always comes out. To bad pops isn't around to see it but i'm sure he knows its home
Pics are now in the vintage section under an imgur link. Let me know what you all think
