What model Savage do you have? When I did the part with the spring in the magazine fell out from the other part of the magazine.
Going to work on the 22-250 trigger and pulled it out of the stock. When I did the part with the spring in the magazine fell out from the other part of the magazine. I've had this out before and this didn't happen. I looked pretty carefully and can't see what holds it in. It might be a little tricky getting it back together. I am not 100% sure which way it even goes in but I am pretty sure it is with the copper colored Philips screw to the front. Am I overlooking something here?

It's a 22-250 heavy barrel Model 12. Magazine stays with action when it is removed from the stock.
Never had one like that so I'm no help. Sorry bro!I am pretty sure it is with the copper colored Philips screw to the front.
Stagger feed. Put the spring and follower in the stock and place the action down on top of it carefully. Tighten screws
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
Could not figure out the "brass screw"at first..but it's the screw that holds the spring to the follower. Actually I put the receiver on my lap, trigger shoe up, and put the stock down on it...don't have things falling out that way.
I don't see what could hold it in but I swear it never came out the first time I had it apart. Maybe it was just a freak accident it didn't. It wasn't hard to get everything back together either. Guess I was worried for nothing. I got the trigger down to 1 1/2# now after a couple tries. I think it will help.
