I’d vote 6.5. Recoil will be about the same and 6.5 is more readily available, better BC’s and and better barrel life. Not sure there is a difference of inherent accuracy.
Building one last rifle for punching holes. What in your opinions is the most accurate for on the bench? The 6 or 6.5 creedmore.

I know i spelled creedmoor. Sorry

It's a toss up. 6mm bullets are cheaper. That seems to be about the only variable. For punching paper, either will do the job well.
6mms are the hot ticket going right now, including in PRS.

I don't have either, but do have a 6.5mm. From various reading it seems the 6mm has an advantage in drop and isn't a significant difference in drift. For paper or pings the 6mm looks a hair better.

Big vote for the 6.5 Creedmoor. I find it easy to test and
tune, and even with warm loads, a very mild recoil.

Accuracy is pretty much a wash.
6CM and barrel life is pretty much done by 2k rounds tops and could be less and that’s running it as a PRS gun. You can get more life out of it depending on how your using it.
6.5CM and you are more around 3k rounds.

This.
What range?
Hell, a .308 will be as "accurate" as anything else out to about 500-600 yards with exponentially better throat life. Drop/drift are pretty much irrelevant inside that range unless you're shooting in a hurricane.
Thanks for the replies. I am shooting 300 yds but come spring i am joining a club that has 1,000 yds. You are correct about the 308. I have one and three other calibers but this will be my last one. I use a savage action so i figured this would be the best site to ask. Thanks again.

and then there is the 6.5 x 47
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
Many chamberings are suitable for 1K yards.
Down here, 6 Dasher is popular.
6.5 Creedmoor is fine at that range.
I'm about to build a .284 for the same purpose.
Like magnums? 7 mag, .300 WM, and the new .300 PRC which'll give you what the magnum does without the belt.
My best advice is talk to the guys at your club.
Factors such as prevalent winds/direction, and other factors related specifically to the locale are important in making a choice- as well as the obvious ones related to handloading vs factory ammo availability.
I have a dasher in the safe i put there a couple of years ago. Maybe i should get it back out. Again thanks for the replies. I will take your advice.
