There is no special Wylde gauge...just use a .223
Does anyone know what headspace gauge to use on a 223 wylde is it a 5.56 or a regular 223?

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
Actually the Wylde chamber is a modified 5.56 chamber and there is a difference in headspace between a 223 and a 5.56 chamber. It started with the Canadians shooting teams as the profile for the bullets were different than the American bullets. The Canadian 5.56 was creating pressure problems so they changed the ball seat angle and length to accommodate the different profile. It actually fits the 69gr Sierra hpbt almost exactly. That was why it was adopted as the Wylde chamber in the AR15 rifles.
I am going off memory so the details might not be exactly right. Been a very long time since I thought about this.
The headspace is the same.......only the throat is different.

Also remember that SAAMI spec's include a fairly generous tolerance.

Once you consider the tolerence of total headspace and the tolerence in the gauges themselves, they are essentially the same.
