Seems a fair price.
Howdy,
This is my first post on Savage Shooters and I'm sure I'll draw the ire of some of you old heads but it isn't intentional.
I have the opportunity to purchase a very gently used Model 110C in 30-06. It has what appears to be a walnut stock and irons. The owner is asking $299. Yes, I have gone online and looked around but I'm not seeing many examples of this particular rifle for price comparison purposes. Do you guys think the $299 is fair considering the rifle is in very good condition? Are there any problems with this particular model that I need to be aware of?
Thanks (and sorry) in advance.
Seems a fair price.
Imho that was a deal. I got a 110C a while back, $275 I think. Synthetic stock so I purchased a Walnut stock. I was over $375 when it was done. Irons are nice for backup.

I agree about the irons. I picked the rifle up today. I believe it was manufactured in 1987 but it looks brand new. The stock is nice so overall I'm pretty happy. Thanks for the replies.
Mine had some copper build up, looked pretty worn. Cleaned w Sweets and Hoppes. Bore is nice now, stays pretty clear of copper for hunting purposes.
I also use a bore mop with a couple wraps of paper towel, Flitz, and a power drill to polish the chamber. Not mirror finish, just clean so brass won’t stick.
Some of the older Savage 110's are starting to fetch higher prices nowadays if they're in original/unmolested condition - particularly those made prior to 1966 that have the old-style shrouded bolt. While this 110C doesn't fall in that category, snagging it for $300 was a good buy.
