I am going to diligently start following this thread, so I can score a good deal and add one to the collection.

Well my new 22-250 is a solid 2 MOA gun so far! Not very pleased. I worked up several loads with 55 Vmax, 52 Sierra HPBT, 52 Speer HP with Varget. Back in the day I allways used H4895, but I have 8 lbs of Varget I need to burn. Thought I might find a load quick, but guess it's going to be a journey. As posted earlier the barrel has a pitted place about 1 1/2 inches from muzzle. If I can't get it to shoot I'll have to decide wether to cut it down 2 inches or rebarrel. I will probably restock it just to be assured it's not a tupperware problem. I was amazed the trigger went down to just over 1 lb.
You might try heavier bullets. My Axis HB in .223 likes 69 and 77 gn best (SMK's or Norma match). I have shot lighter bullets but they usually end up over 1" at 100yd. I suspect the faster twist is partly to blame. I also use Varget and it works great for me.
Check your barrel for copper fouling. I had trouble with my BVSS (.308). I ended up removing all the copper and then using Iosso paste on the throat several times. Much better now. Still not a 1/2MOA rifle but I think it might get there.
I have not done a lot with my .22-250 12FV but I know it's very accurate with factory Hornady 55 vmax...
If its under warranty I would send it back. Then you have the option to take the replacement barrel off and sell it as a new takeoff and buy an aftermarket, if you choose.
Did Cabelas discontinue the 204? I dont see it listed on their web site. Could this be an end of an era?
It's a 12 twist so it shouldn't need heavy bullets. It is brand new and has no copper in it except for the 30 or so rounds I put thru it. Maybe it needs some copper in it to fill the the bad spot in the rifling! I'm not going to take the time to send it back and wait on them to decide what they will or will not do to fix the problem. It's a $290 dollar gun. One more trip to the range with some other loads wll tell if I need to chop or swap. All I know is if it can't make sub moa it can't stay.
Call them they will send a call tag for shipping and they have been very fast for me with repairs.
I think I just bought a new take off in the classifieds here if it hasn't sold on another site he has it posted on. Time will tell. I hope it's a good one!
The 12FV 204s are history. Keep in mind that Cabela's is no more. Most Cabela's brand merchandise is going away and being replaced by Redhead which is Bass Pro's house brand and nowhere near the same quality. A short six months ago if you searched the website for "Cabela's" you would get almost 6000 products. I tried it today and got just over 2000. Hard to say if any of the firearms that are "Cabela's Exclusive" will survive the transition.
It was listed on the Bass Pro website. I assumed it wasn't listed on vista because the 12FV isn't a regular catalogue item, but nothing to back that up.
I see they are back listed as "limited stock". Must have found some behind the corner at the warehouse, or cancelled orders. Either way they are $90 off.
I placed my first (ever) rebate 1/1/2019 online, was pending until today I received an email approved and will be shipping in 3-4 weeks. I checked the website and confirmed it changed to qualified! That is about 5 1/2 weeks, I don't think that is to bad to get the confirmation.

Hey Txroadlizard, how did you get a drop magazine on your 12 Fv? I agree with you, I love my mod 12 fv in 223 too, been shooting it indoors at 100yrds, was finally nice enough to get to the outdoor range for abit the other day, setup and had 8 and 6 inch metal as 330 yrds ( that's what they told me ) and sat down dialed it in and hit the 1st shot on the 8" next 5 went to the 6 inch! I was tickled... dang sure is fun!
