the 143 is an ELD-X bullet. The ELD-M comes in 140 and 147 grain weights. I've had great results with the 143 ELD-X (.25 MOA on a good day) in my .260 Remington.
Liking this rifle so far. Only 30 rounds thru it so far...grouping is improving. Only ammo I've been able to find so far is Hornady Black 140 gr. Looking for Hornady 143 ELM's...no luck.

What caliber is that in? And what kind of groups are you getting from it?

Awesome. I love that the 6.5CM has taken off and looks to not be going anywhere anytime soon. The sold out ammo is a good sign. This is coming from a guy with a .308.
OK....finally got a chance to get back here...this picture is the first 5 rounds thru the Sav110 6.5CM. I have since shot 80 rds total and the groups have improved greatly !! No photos of the last few targets but, getting 1/2 MOA with no problem...and if I hold my mouth just right....shot two 3 rd groups 1/4 MOA. This shooting with or without suppressor....however, there is a shift in POI with the suppressor.

I have the Savage Mdl 11 Scout 308, I am extremely happy with it.
So you're getting 1/2 MOA with handloads? Pretty nice shooting there.

Hi David, I haven't shot any handloads yet...so far either Hornady Black 140 gr BTHP or Hornady Match 140 ELD. I'm loading up some Hornady 143 gr ELD-X now and hope shoot this week...if the rain will subside here in S. Texas ! I was told by others that the groups would improve with more rounds....after about 70 rds things started looking much better...
I haven't really "cleaned" the barrel yet, just pulled a bore snake thru with a few drops of Hoppes #9 a couple of times.

Did you follow any formal break-in procedure or did you just clean it and then start shooting?

Initially pulled the gun out of the box, cleaned off all factory corrosion inhibitors(inside & out) put a little lube on the bolt, adjusted the trigger down to 2.5 lbs. and started shooting. I always pull a bore snake with a little Hoppes No. 9 thru the barrel after each trip to the range.

Really like your set-up. Curious what model Vortex and which rings? Have not had time to clean up nor fire mine. steve
Nice rigs guys! I'm new here to SS. I recently purchased my Savage 110 Desert tactical in 6.5 Creedmoor. I haven't shot it yet, just got it all set up. I purchased this rifle because it was $200 of the retail price.
I'm actually changing out the stock...the reason I'm changing it out is because I use the middle comb riser and have to remove it to clean the bore. This is not usually an issue, however, I really dont like the accustock system. You can't see the screws to remove the stock buttpad and comb riser (you have to "feel" loosening and tightening it) the problem is I'm afraid of the "on and off" process of these screws and possibly over tightening/stripping the screw holes in the stock. I contacted Savage and they said just "snug it up" - when I snug it up the buttstock pad isn't tight against the stock, so I need to tighten it. Anyone have this concern also?
Here's a picture of my rig (before I change the stock)

I have the same rig in 6 Creedmoor. 3/4" 6 shot group after shooting the first 14 to do cleanings. I have only found the Hornady Black, (105), and awaiting my reloading supplies.
Very nice!
I have the same gun in 6.5. Anyone have any pet loads? Like to find something with 140gr Berger elite hunters
