Yes, Apache did it for me. Do it.
Have a CBI 6mm br barrel on a PTA.
Am considering having it rechambered to 6mm CM.
Anyone done anything like this before, with any caliber?
How did it go?

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
Thanks for the reply- just unscrew your barrel and send it in?
after you and the smith agree on work and price... yep.

What was your turn around time?
Hmm, rechambering from the short BR to the longer Creedmoor will remove the existing throat, and therefore let you get some more use from the rest of the bore. That makes some sense.
Thanks, that was part of the appeal, along with decent factory ammo.
Apache rechambered from a 6 PPC to a 6BR for me also a while back. He was a lot less busy back then, so I'm not sure what his current turnaround time would be. Any competent gunsmith should be able to do it for you. I'd also recommend them re-crowning the barrel as well. 6BR is not a barrel burner but if you have a good amount of rounds through it the re-crown will ensure you're starting totally fresh.
