Yes. But the headspace would have to be checked when switching a new bolt or bolt head to a different receiver.
Hi everyone,
I have a newbie question.... I have an Axis in .270 Win but have misplaced the bolt, a friend has the same rifle chambered in 30-06 he's offered to lend me his bolt until I can get a replacement. I understand that the .270 is a just a modified 30-06, the magazines are interchangeable right?
Will the bolts be interchangeable or should I just wait for to order a replacement kit as I'm having trouble finding one that's fully assembled.
Thanks

When you say misplaced do you mean you have put it somewhere, but can't find it,or have you lost it outdoors somewhere?.If it is findable, then I would find it or wait till you just come across it.I have misplaced things, and looked everywhere, and given up looking, but usually find it by dumb luck after I replace it,and when I do find it I remember putting it there.
Like was stated. Your barrel head space needs to be inspected and more likely than not, reset.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
By misplaced I mean lost.
Thanks everyone for your time to reply, I'm going to have a local gunsmith replace the bolt.
Thanks again!
