I just found out that this is not a factory stock. It is a Boyd's stock. Also the serial number is H733168
New to the group and needing a little help. I went to a gun show today and traded for 116 .270 with a walnut stock. I have never seen one like it, and I'm trying to find out exactly which version or style of 116 this is. The guy told me that he thought it was a weather warrior. Just hoping for some clarity. Thanks, Derrick

Several years ago Savage did offer 14/114 model with stainless action and sporter barrel and their American Classic walnut stock. The stock was checkered with a black plastic forearm tip.
You have found yourself one of Savages best hunting rifles ever. Even nicer with a wood stock. Enjoy.
