It’s designed that way.
I was cleaning my Model 12 6.5 cm bolt today and I noticed the ejector wasn't round. It looked like half of it's diameter is missing . It tapers back sharply towards the bolt face. I checked my other Model 12 and the ejector is round. It doesn't look broke, it looks worn. This rifle has less than 100 rounds through it.
Has anybody else seen this?
Is Savage the best option for buying one ?
Thanks
This post needs pictures.
This is what it should look like, but instead it looks like it broke off or wore off on a diagonal from the end to the cut out for the retaining pin. I'm going to have to buy a punch small enough to knock the pin out and remove it

I can’t find the thread, however I’m working on finding a picture for you. I’m pretty sure you’re describing the standard angled ejector.
Thanks . I guess they changed the design. My other Model 12 has the round ejector, and it's only a year older.
That style ejector is for a specific set up. You can find them in rifles that use an A.I. magazine.

Interesting that they put one in one of my model 12's and not the other......
I have Savages with both type of ejectors... tapered and regular round,... and there is not difference in performance.
