All of the 12FVs are small shanks. You realize you will need a magnum bolt face for the PRC?
What is the shank diameter of the Savage (Cabelas) #12 in 6.5 Creedmoor with 4.4" bolt spacing?
I'm thinking that the 6.5CM chamber will clean up 100% if reamed to the new 6.5 PRC
Lots of take off 6.5CM Varmint barrels around that are an inexpensive way to get into this new cartridge......Why..Because we can !

Actually, if the shank is large enough, I'm going to thread it for a trued Remington action I have hanging around. I'll be using a barrel nut.
I picked up the new MagPul stock for the SA Remington on sale for $200 (Ebay) and just looking for a project.
If I go the PRC I'll open up the remington bolt face and use a Sako extractor.
Most likely I'll keep it as a CM as I have brass, dies, etc.
What diameter is "Small Shank"?All of the 12FVs are small shanks
Just answered my own question......Nope, won't work without a lot of JB Weld!... :-)
Remington is 1.062 and 16 threads per inch. Savage small shank is 1.055 and 20 threads per inch.
